I believe this is one of my favourites in your gallery... she's so young, sweet and innocent. And the way her eyes are so full of light, hope and wonder? It's all so simplistic, but it's powerful.

How do you make the eyes stand out and shine? I can tell that the page is tilted away from the light to get the dark to light effect, but how do you get the eyes to catch so much light?

many different Gel styled pens out there, the eyes will grasp the viewers attention first because the entire peice is done in black, this makes a small few light strokes of pink gradient stand out in the under curve of the white in the eye. The of white/ reflection in the eye was left as white as the page... ( since the rest of the image was darkened via tradtional layer techniques.)

In essense, the reflection of the eye was left alone mostly to contrast, or a scratch technique was used on thicker paper to reach a whiter layer.

What baffles me is if this was taken via camera due to the lighting when looking at the gradient as it becomes lighter at the top right of the page... :p
